Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India, June 2026 — Samadhi Yoga Ashram, a residential yoga school and retreat centre located in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh, has been offering structured teacher training programs in the Himalayan tradition since 2011. The ashram is registered with Yoga Alliance USA at the RYS 200, RYS 300, and RYS 500 levels, allowing graduates to register as internationally recognised yoga teachers upon course completion. Programs range from an 8-day, 100-hour foundation course to a 60-day, 500-hour advanced curriculum, covering asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy drawn from the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, functional anatomy, and practical teaching methodology.

Founded by Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, a student of Swami Veda Bharati, who was himself a student of Swami Rama of the Himalayas, the ashram situates its teaching within an unbroken lineage stretching back through generations of Himalayan masters. The full eight-limbed path of yoga, including Kundalini, Kriya, Karma, and Raja Yoga, forms the backbone of every course offered.

Ashram life at Samadhi follows a fixed daily rhythm: early morning pranayama and meditation before sunrise, followed by asana practice, three sattvic vegetarian meals, afternoon study sessions in philosophy and anatomy, and evening meditation. The structure is designed to give students a sustainable daily practice framework that holds beyond the duration of the course.

Faculty includes teachers with over a decade of experience at the ashram, several holding postgraduate degrees in Yoga Sciences. An in-house Ayurvedic doctor and a dedicated Ayurveda spa are also available to students throughout their stay. Course fees at the Rishikesh campus begin at USD 990 for the 200-hour training, inclusive of accommodation and meals.

A portion of every course fee is directed toward education support, covering school fees, books, uniforms, and meals, for students from underprivileged families in nearby villages.
