Hyundai Creta Electric Gets 60% Assured Buyback Value for Up to 3 Years

Hyundai Motor India has introduced a new Assured Buyback Program for the Hyundai Creta Electric. The programme offers an assured buyback value of 60% for up to three years or 45,000km, whichever comes first. It aims to give buyers more clarity about the vehicle’s future value and reduce concerns around EV resale.

The buyback programme is part of Hyundai’s broader EV ownership plan, which also includes the Hyundai Creta Electric’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, charging support and an expanding EV network. Together, these initiatives focus on making EV ownership more predictable and easier to manage.
Hyundai says the programme provides greater financial assurance throughout the ownership period. Buyers will have a pre-defined estimate of the vehicle’s value instead of relying entirely on market conditions at the time of resale.

Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, said the next phase of EV adoption will depend not only on vehicle technology but also on customer confidence. He added that the Creta Electric is designed to offer a complete ownership experience, supported by Hyundai’s EV expertise and the established Ceta name.

The Hyundai Creta Electric is available with two battery options. The 51.4kWh battery pack offers an ARAI-certified range of up to 510km, while the 42kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 420km.
Using a DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes. Actual charging times may vary depending on the charger, battery condition and other external factors. Hyundai claims that the long-range version can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds under controlled test conditions.

The electric SUV also gets features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, Hyundai Digital Key and SmartSense Level 2 ADAS. V2L allows the vehicle’s battery to power compatible electrical devices, while the Digital Key adds smartphone-based vehicle access. Hyundai’s sales and service network also supports the ownership experience, especially as service availability remains an important factor for EV buyers.

Hyundai had earlier introduced the Creta Electric with a BaaS option starting at Rs 10.99 lakh. Under this model, customers can purchase the vehicle without paying the full battery cost upfront. Battery charges start at Rs 3.9 per kilometre, subject to the terms and conditions mentioned by Hyundai.

Charging infrastructure is another part of the company’s EV strategy. Through the myHyundai app, customers can access more than 30,000 charging points across India. Hyundai currently operates 183 DC fast-charging stations across 105 cities and plans to expand the network to 600 stations by 2030.
The upcoming charging stations will be installed across cities, highways and Hyundai dealerships. A wider charging network can make long-distance travel more convenient and improve access to fast charging.
