Interface Concept introduces new OpenVPX Intel Xeon-D Digital Signal Processor modules

Quimper, France, 12th October 2015? Interface Concept, developer and manufacturer of COTS electronic boards and systems for Defence and Industry markets, introduces two new OpenVPX 3U DSP Engine modules based on the Intel? Xeon? processor D (code-named ?Broadwell-DE?). This is the first product of a new very high performance DSP module family based on this Intel? processor. With this new family of products, designers of High Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) systems will be enabled to take full advantage of the unmatched performance of the Xeon? processor D architecture.

These modules feature two banks of high speed DDR4 memory. A cutting edge bandwidth is available on the Data Plane, Control Plane and Expansion Plane. An XMC card expansion is also featured to bring the maximum of flexibility. Both cards have a Core Function FPGA for additional services (communication interfaces, GPIOs, video,?) and security enabling.

Both products use the IC developed UEFI Boot Loader allowing optimized PBITs, ensuring the shortest boot time and enabling customization. They both take benefit from the Fabric Management Software Multiware implementing optimized services between PCIe domains (DMA transfers, Ethernet emulation over PCIe, management of shared memory, messages and semaphores?)

IC-INT-VPX3d and IC-INT-VPX3e are designed for delivering high performance in the harshest environments including air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions.

Product availability is planned in Q1-2016. Other products within this high performance DSP module family are to be released in Q2-2016.
