Hyundai BAYON design sketches revealed ahead of India debut

Hyundai Motor India has revealed the first design sketches of the upcoming Hyundai BAYON, giving an early look at its new Intelligent Utility Vehicle. The BAYON is being developed as a global model and will feature a stronger SUV design with a focus on everyday city driving.

The BAYON is designed for buyers who want the look and feel of an SUV but mainly drive in urban areas. Hyundai says it aims to combine SUV-like character and capability with the ease of use needed for daily city driving.

The design follows Hyundai’s evolving Art of Steel philosophy, which uses sharp lines, sculpted surfaces and strong shapes. The BAYON has muscular proportions and defined character lines that give it a sporty and youthful look without making the design too busy.

The interior sketch gives a first look at the cabin. Hyundai describes it as modern and easy to use, with a focus on technology and connectivity. The cabin is expected to offer a more premium feel while keeping everyday use in mind.
Hyundai’s design team says the idea is to combine a tough-looking exterior with a high-tech interior. The company has not revealed the full feature list yet, but the sketch points to a modern cabin with connected features and simple controls.

Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center at Hyundai Motor Company, said the aim was to give the BAYON a confident design for the Indian market. He highlighted the sculpted bonnet, bold fenders and H-Edge lighting as key elements of its design.
The BAYON has been designed for buyers who want an SUV that fits easily into city life. Hyundai says the model will focus on confidence, capability and everyday practicality, while offering the stronger road presence expected from an SUV.

For now, Hyundai has only revealed the first design sketches of the BAYON. Its launch date, price, engine options and full specifications are yet to be announced. The sketches, however, show that the model will focus on a bold SUV design, a modern connected cabin and practical urban use.
