Mumbai, September 22, 2026 - Montran India, a global financial infrastructure technology company, has enabled MyUPI, UPI Tap & Pay and Contextual EMI through its Unified Payments Interface UPI Issuer Switch, helping banks operationalise new capabilities introduced at the Global Fintech Fest 2026.

The development comes as UPI continues to scale, with 24.51 billion transactions worth ₹29.82 lakh crore (₹29.82 trillion) processed in August 2026, up 22% year-on-year. Montran already has a significant presence across India's payment infrastructure, processing more than 14 crore (140 million) transactions every day and powering 40% of India's Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions and 53% of National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) transactions.

MyUPI, previously known as UPI Help 2.0, provides customers with a consolidated view of transaction history and mandate information across UPI apps, along with capabilities for transaction replay, payee-context information, user controls and automated chargeback processing. Montran's UPI Issuer Switch is compliant with the National Payments Corporation of India's (NPCI) Unified Dispute and Issue Resolution (UDIR) guidelines for dispute and grievance handling.

UPI Tap & Pay enables customers to make payments at compatible point of sale (POS) terminals by tapping their near-field communication (NFC)-enabled phones. Montran worked with NPCI and bank teams to complete solution design and bank-specific customisations within 30–45 days, following participation in NPCI-led proof-of-concepts and completion of NPP certification.

"The pace of innovation across UPI continues to accelerate, and banks need infrastructure that allows them to adopt new capabilities quickly without compromising the reliability and resilience expected from critical payment systems," said Julie Esca, Montran India CEO. "By working closely with NPCI and our banking partners, we are helping translate new UPI capabilities into real-world services for customers. As the ecosystem continues to evolve, Montran remains focused on enabling banks to innovate with confidence and deliver richer, more seamless payment experiences."

Montran India has also enabled Contextual EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) within its existing contextual payment framework, allowing customers to discover and select eligible EMI options within the payment journey. This has been deployed by Montran for two major commercial banks.

As UPI moves beyond transaction processing towards richer payment and customer experiences, Montran's UPI Issuer Switch enables banks to adopt new capabilities while remaining connected to the wider UPI ecosystem.
