KLH Students Win First Prize at Global Codeverse 2026

Hyderabad, 15 September 2026: KLH students secured first prize in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning domain at Global Codeverse 2026, a 24-hour national-level mega hackathon. The team received a cash prize of ₹15,000 after successfully completing three competitive rounds.
The two-member team from KLH Aziznagar, HackHERS, comprised Yedla Akshaya and Thirunagari Varsha, second-year B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering students. They developed Krishi-Netra, a Telugu voice-enabled, AI-powered crop health and risk advisory platform designed to help smallholder farmers make timely and informed decisions.
Congratulating the students, Er. Koneru Lakshman Havish, Vice President, KL Deemed to be University said, “This achievement reflects our students’ ability to apply emerging technologies to real-world challenges. Krishi-Netra demonstrates how innovation driven by empathy and purpose can positively impact farming communities.”
Krishi-Netra combines crop images with information on crop stages, weather conditions and farmer-reported symptoms to assess risks and recommend suitable action. Its Telugu-first bilingual interface offers voice input and read-aloud support, making the platform accessible to farmers facing language or digital-literacy barriers.
Following the “See, Understand, Verify, Act and Re-scan” cycle, the platform provides risk forecasts, follow-up alerts and continuous crop monitoring. Built using a low-cost, open-source technology stack, it integrates AI, computer vision and contextual reasoning, with the potential for wider use among farming communities.
Principal, KLH Aziznagar, Dr. A. Ramakrishna informed that the hackathon was organised by the Global Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. KLH Aziznagar regularly encourages students to participate in institutional and national-level hackathons while strengthening their technical, communication and presentation skills. Such achievements reflect the campus’s growing culture of innovation and its focus on developing technology-driven solutions to societal challenges.
