The programme will be delivered by a distinguished panel of industry practitioners and creative professionals bringing real-world production experience into the learning environment.
Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Sandip Weling, Whole-time Director & Chief Business Officer, Global Retail, Aptech Limited, said, "Generative AI is redefining the creative landscape and opening up new possibilities for how stories are imagined, developed and produced. At Aptech, our focus has always been on keeping learners aligned with the evolving needs of industry. Our collaboration with GSL brings together creative expertise, emerging technology and a strong learning ecosystem to give students an opportunity to understand and apply AI-powered filmmaking workflows in a practical, industry-oriented environment. We believe this partnership can play an important role in preparing the next generation of creative professionals for an AI-enabled future."
The Gen AI Filmmaking Program will be rolled out in phases across Aptechs leading media & entertainment training brands, Arena Animation and MAAC. Recognising that proficiency in Generative AI is fast becoming an essential skillset for new-age filmmaking and creative production, the programme will be made available across both brands to ensure that aspiring filmmakers and creative professionals have access to relevant, future-ready AI filmmaking skills. The collaboration will leverage Aptech's established network and delivery infrastructure to enable the course to reach learners through classroom, online and blended learning formats. The partnership will also support broader industry engagement and thought leadership around the evolving role of AI in filmmaking and creative education.
Mr. Ameet Zaveri, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer, Get Set Learn , said, "The convergence of artificial intelligence and filmmaking is creating an entirely new creative paradigm. Our collaboration with Aptech is designed to make this transformation accessible to learners through a structured, hands-on learning experience that combines technology with storytelling and creative thinking. By bringing industry perspectives, mentorship and project-based learning into the programme, we aim to help students move beyond simply using AI tools and develop the ability to use these technologies meaningfully in the creative process."
A key feature of the collaboration will be the integration of industry engagement and mentorship into the learning journey. GSL's creative team will support faculty training and course delivery, participate in select sessions as industry speakers, and provide mentoring and guidance to students undertaking their capstone projects. Top-performing students will also have the opportunity to be considered for internships, while outstanding student films may be showcased through GSL's platforms and channels.
The partnership reflects the growing importance of preparing creative talent for an industry increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. As generative AI transforms ideation, scripting, visual development, production and post-production workflows, the ability to combine creative storytelling with emerging technology is becoming an increasingly important skill for the next generation of filmmakers and content creators.
The Gen AI Filmmaking Programme is a specialised 100-hour programme delivered in a virtual/hybrid format, enabling aspiring filmmakers and creative professionals from across India to access structured, industry-oriented training in AI-powered filmmaking. Admissions are based on a creative assessment and selection process, ensuring participants possess the aptitude and creative potential for next-generation filmmaking. The programme blends structured learning with hands-on assignments, demonstrations, video tutorials, project-based learning and a capstone project culminating in the creation of an AI short film. It features conceptual filmmaking sessions by Aptech's faculty, AI filmmaking modules, masterclasses and programme delivery by leading filmmakers, AI experts and GSL's creative team. Students also benefit from industry mentorship, project guidance and opportunities to be considered for internships. Outstanding AI short films may be showcased through Aptech and GSL platforms, as well as submitted to national and international AI film festivals and competitions.
According to Dimension Market Research, the Global Generative AI in Movies is anticipated to reach a market value of USD 4490.7 Mn by 2033 at a CAGR of 28.2%. As studios and content creators increasingly seek faster, more efficient and cost-effective production workflows, generative AI is rapidly becoming an integral part of the filmmaking ecosystem. Leading film studios and technology companies are already embedding AI across the production pipeline - from script ideation and storyboarding to visual effects, automated editing and post-production increasing creative efficiency while significantly reducing production time and costs. As AI reshapes the future of filmmaking, the demand for professionals who can seamlessly combine creative storytelling with AI-powered workflows is expected to accelerate, creating new career opportunities across the media and entertainment industry.
As AI continues to reshape the global creative economy, the collaboration aims to bridge the gap between emerging technology and employability-oriented creative education helping learners build the skills, portfolios and industry exposure needed to participate in the next generation of filmmaking and digital content creation.
