07 September, 2026, Mumbai: Matanand Welfare Foundation, in collaboration with Rotary District 3141, has joined hands with the NCC Directorate Maharashtra to support its forward-looking Yuva Drone Training Initiative, aimed at equipping young people with skills in drone technology and building capabilities for future training in emerging technology domains.

In the first phase, selected participants will undergo DGCA-approved Drone Pilot Training, enabling them to become DGCA Certified Drone Pilots. The initiative is being undertaken following discussions with the NCC Directorate Maharashtra under the leadership of Major General Vivek Tyagi, ADG, Maharashtra NCC.

The trained participants are envisioned to form a founding pool of DGCA Certified Drone Pilots and Drone Instructors, helping strengthen drone-training capabilities that can eventually benefit NCC cadets across Maharashtra. The larger vision is to support the development of an NCC-operated, DGCA-compliant Drone Training Centre of Excellence in the state and create a platform for skilling youth in drone technology and other emerging technology domains.

Matanand Welfare Foundation and Rotary District 3141 are jointly mobilising support for the initial training programme.

"This initiative is about creating a multiplier effect by developing DGCA Certified Drone Pilots and Drone Instructors who can help extend these capabilities to thousands of young Indians. Emerging technologies such as drones can open new pathways for skills, employment and national service, and we are proud to contribute to this vision of Viksit Bharat @2047," said Nikkhil K Masurkar, President, Matanand Welfare Foundation & CEO, Entod Pharmaceuticals.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by Matanand Welfare Foundation, Rotary District 3141 and NCC Directorate Maharashtra to youth empowerment, technology-led skilling and nation-building, while laying the foundation for young Indians to develop capabilities relevant to the emerging technology landscape.
