New Delhi, India, 01 September 2026: Kia India, one of the country's leading mass-premium automakers, today announced its wholesale numbers for August 2026, recording a growth of 48.1% over the same month last year. The company dispatched 29,042 units in August 2026, as against 19,608 units in August 2025, reflecting sustained customer preference for the brand's expanding range of vehicles across body styles and powertrains. This marks Kia India's best-ever August wholesale performance since its inception.

The momentum carried through the year, with Kia India's year-to-date wholesales for 2026 standing at 220,991 units, up from 183,882 units in the corresponding period of 2025, a growth of over 20.1%. The company attributes this consistent performance to its continued focus on understanding and responding to the evolving mobility needs of Indian customers, from first-time SUV buyers to those seeking premium, feature-rich, and increasingly electrified options.

Sales through the year continue to be anchored by the Seltos, which is consistently averaging over 10,000-unit sales every month since launch in January; and Sonet – which remain customer favourites within Kia India's mass-premium portfolio. Both models have built their appeal on offering customers a combination of design, technology, and value across the compact and sub-compact SUV segments and continue to be the primary drivers of the brand's volumes in India.

The company has also received encouraging response from its electric vehicle line-up, led by the recently launched Syros EV. As Indian customers increasingly explore electrified mobility, the Syros EV extends Kia's commitment to offering choices across powertrains, allowing customers to select a vehicle that best fits their lifestyle, usage patterns, and sustainability goals.

Supporting this shift toward electrification, Kia India's growing EV line-up is backed by one of the industry's strongest ownership propositions – which addresses three core concerns around EV adoption — price, long-term battery peace of mind and resale value. Our industry-best Assured Buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), and Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, are designed to make electric mobility more accessible, convenient and confidence-inspiring for Indian customers.

Commenting on the performance, Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, "Our strong performance in August reflects the continued trust of our customers and the relevance of our evolving product portfolio. While the Seltos and Sonet continue to drive sustained demand, the encouraging contribution from the newly launched Syros EV signals growing customer acceptance of electric mobility. Through one of the industry's strongest ownership propositions comprising Assured Buyback, Battery-as-a-Service and Lifetime Battery Warranty and our expanding EV ecosystem, we are addressing key ownership considerations and making the transition to electric mobility more accessible and reassuring. As customer expectations evolve, we remain committed to delivering future-ready mobility solutions that offer meaningful value, greater choice and a differentiated ownership experience. The upcoming launch of the Sorento will further advance this strategy and strengthen Kia's premium mobility proposition in India."

Through its expanding range of products, ownership benefits, and services, Kia India continues to strengthen its position as a mobility partner offering a wider choice of vehicles, powertrains, and ownership experiences designed around real customer needs.

Looking ahead, Kia India is set to further widen its portfolio with the launch of one of its most successful global SUV nameplates – the Kia Sorento, on September 4, 2026. The Sorento will be Kia's first hybrid SUV for India, complemented by a powerful Diesel powertrain, marking the brand's entry into a new premium three-row SUV segment. The Sorento is aimed at customers seeking a larger, more premium mobility solution reinforcing Kia's approach of building a portfolio that grows and adapts alongside its customers' changing needs.

Kia India's strong nationwide footprint spanning 910 touchpoints across 418 cities, enhances brand accessibility for customers to its sales, service and ownership support across both urban and emerging markets. This is further complemented by 137 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, enabling instant payments, seamless exchanges and a hassle-free ownership experience for customers.
