CEng. Shreekant Patil Leads Insightful Workshop on Startup Regulatory Compliance at SIOM Nashik

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at the Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM), Nashik, today conducted a two-hour workshop titled "Startup Regulatory Compliance: Building Legal • Ensuring Ethics • Scaling Responsibly," held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the institute's Assembly Hall. The session was attended by more than 50 MBA students and organized by the IIC team, with CEng. Shreekant Patil felicitated by Prof. Rahul as the keynote speaker of the workshop.
The session offered students a practical, example-driven understanding of startup regulatory compliance, covering key aspects of MSME frameworks, ethical business practices, and responsible scaling. Renown startup mentor CEng. Shreekant Patil walked participants through the startup ecosystem and its stakeholders, explained avenues for seed funding available through Startup India and state government schemes, and demonstrated how to navigate the Startup India portal — all while keeping the discussion firmly rooted in real-world, actionable insights for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A session, during which CEng. Shreekant Patil encouraged and urged students to take the leap into entrepreneurship — establishing their own companies and securing recognition from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). He assured students of his continued support, promising to guide and assist them in all respects, both now and in the future, as they build their entrepreneurial journeys.
Strengthening the Startup Ecosystem in the Region
Beyond this workshop, CEng. Shreekant Patil has been a driving force behind startup and entrepreneurship development across Nashik and Maharashtra. A Chartered Engineer and Government of India–recognised Startup India Mentor, he founded and chairs the NIMA Startup Hub under the Nashik Industries & Manufacturers' Association, which has helped create over 120 entrepreneurs and startups by connecting them to seed funding, PMEGP, and other government schemes. He also chairs the Startup, Entrepreneurship & Cluster Development Committee at the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA), and founded the Igniting Innovation Initiative in 2024 in partnership with the Maharashtra State Government — an effort that has contributed to Nashik recording the state's highest startup-registration growth. As a Credit Counsellor and Facilitator with SIDBI and a mentor under the Stand-Up India scheme, he continues to champion opportunities for MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, and SC/ST entrepreneurs across the region.
