Mumbai, August 26, 2026: Dignity Education Vision International DEVI Sansthan, a leading non-profit organisation working to transform foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), marked its listing on the BSE Social Stock Exchange SSE with a landmark Bell Ringing Ceremony at the International Convention Hall of the Bombay Stock Exchange, P.J. Towers, Dalal Street, Mumbai.

The ceremony brought together leaders from the education, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility and financial sectors to celebrate a significant milestone in DEVI Sansthan's journey towards its vision of a fully literate India.

The listing on the Social Stock Exchange marks more than a new avenue for resource mobilisation. It represents a significant step towards building greater transparency, accountability, credibility and institutional rigour in the social sector while creating stronger pathways for organisations to demonstrate measurable impact and engage with a wider community of social investors and partners.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Arijit Basu, Chairman, IndusInd Bank, said, "The listing on the Social Stock Exchange brings greater discipline, transparency and rigour to the way social organisations operate and report their impact."

Shri Swapan Dhar, MD, SBI Foundation, said, "The listing of DEVI Sansthan on the Social Stock Exchange is an important step towards strengthening the ecosystem for social organisations. SBI Foundation is proud to partner with DEVI Sansthan in its foundational literacy and numeracy programme in Ranchi, and we look forward to seeing its impact reach more communities."

Welcoming guests at the ceremony, Shri Nixon Joseph, Group Executive Director, DEVI Sansthan, said, "The Social Stock Exchange should not be viewed merely as another fundraising platform. It can serve as a catalyst for strengthening governance, transparency and accountability among non-profit organisations, while enabling organisations to demonstrate their impact more effectively."

Dr. Sunita Gandhi, Founder, DEVI Sansthan, said, "This listing is not simply a milestone for DEVI Sansthan; it is a powerful opportunity to accelerate our vision of a fully literate India. The Social Stock Exchange can help us take evidence-based, scalable solutions such as ALfA to many more children, schools and communities, and bring us closer to a future where every child can read, write and do mathematics with confidence."

She added, "I am deeply grateful to every partner, supporter, donor, educator and institution that has believed in our vision and stood with us on this journey. Their faith in DEVI Sansthan has made this moment possible. The SSE gives us an opportunity to turn that collective belief into even greater scale and impact for millions of children."

Mr. Manish Michael, Head – Partnerships, Reliance Foundation, said, "DEVI Sansthan has been implementing impactful foundational literacy and numeracy programmes, and Reliance Foundation is proud that its partner is now registered with the Social Stock Exchange. This milestone reflects the importance of strengthening credible, impact-driven organisations working to address some of India's most pressing educational challenges."

Established in 1992 by Dr. Sunita Gandhi, a physicist with a degree from Cambridge University and a former World Bank economist, DEVI Sansthan has spent more than three decades working to improve learning outcomes and transform education systems. Its flagship ALfA Accelerated Learning for All methodology is an evidence-based approach designed to accelerate foundational learning through collaborative and innovative pedagogies.

Developed through nearly two decades of research and experience across 51 countries, ALfA is closely aligned with the objectives of the Government of India's NIPUN Bharat Mission, which seeks to ensure that children achieve foundational literacy and numeracy.

Over the years, DEVI Sansthan's programmes have reached more than 19,000 schools and over 8 lakh children, helping address foundational learning gaps and strengthen children's core abilities in reading, writing and mathematics.

The organisation believes that every child has the right to learn and that foundational literacy and numeracy can be achieved at scale when evidence, innovation, strong partnerships and community participation come together.

The BSE Social Stock Exchange listing provides DEVI Sansthan with an important platform to engage more deeply with the social investment ecosystem, strengthen resource mobilisation, build new partnerships and expand its evidence-based interventions to reach many more children and schools.

"The Bell Ringing Ceremony therefore marks not an endpoint, but the beginning of a new chapter one in which DEVI Sansthan seeks to leverage the credibility, visibility and partnerships enabled by the SSE to accelerate its mission of closing foundational learning gaps and helping build a fully literate India, Sri Nixon added.
