New Delhi: Svayam, India’s leading accessibility organisation, hosted a special ceremony for the Indian Men’s Mixed Disability Cricket Team on their victorious return from the Vitality IT20 Mixed Disability Series 2026 in England. The team’s recent success in defeating England in the final match at Lord’s was celebrated by Svayam upon their return to Delhi today. Svayam has been associated with the team as its primary sponsor, with an effort to ensure that differently-abled athletes have a chance to represent India in international competitions.

The Indian team defeated England by 118 runs in the final match. The event brought together players, coaches, cricket administrators and key dignitaries to felicitate the team and encourage them for future matches.

This event marks an important milestone in Svayam’s journey towards promoting inclusive sports, and its ongoing, multi-year collaboration with DCCI to advance accessibility and inclusion in Indian sports. Since the partnership’s early days, Svayam has supported differently abled cricketers through their journey from district-level cricket and often under-resourced local grounds to representing India at some of the world’s most iconic international venues, including Lord’s Cricket Ground, where the team played the concluding IT20 match. Over the years, this sustained support has helped create a pathway for athletes to progress from the grassroots to the international stage.

Sharing her thoughts on this proud moment, Ms. Sminu Jindal - Founder and Chairperson of Svayam said, “We are very proud to be part of this very noble partnership with DCCI. Talent should not have any boundaries, and when I see these differently abled players touching such great heights and winning at the international level, it gives me immense joy. I would like to wish every player and their coaches all the very best for their future.”

Majid Magray, Captain, Indian Men’s Mixed-Disability Team said, “It is like a dream come true to see the Indian team play and win the final match at the Vitality IT20 Mixed Disability Series 2026. For any cricketer, playing at the Lord's Cricket Ground is always a dream, and for our team we got the chance to play. It is really a dream come true moment for all of us.”

Congratulating the players, Ravi Chauhan, Founder and Secretary General of the Differently-Abled Cricket Council of India, said, “This is a proud moment for the nation. The team played really well, their spirits were high and they were ready to take on any challenge. This also means a lot for inclusive sports in India, for this, we would also like to thank Svayam for their constant support from the very beginning.”

Svayam has been constantly championing the cause of inclusive sports in India, both by supporting the players and also at the policy level. The organisation believes that with the right support, many more sportsmen from across the country can be brought to the forefront, and they can successfully represent the country.
