Assam, 30th July 2026: As severe floods continue to impact communities across Assam, Indus Towers, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, has extended support to approximately 1,100 affected families in Charaideo, Sivasagar and Jorhat districts.

The relief distribution was carried under the company’s flagship CSR programme, Pragati, across centres in Sonari and Teok. The initiative provided affected families with comprehensive support kits to help meet immediate food, healthcare and hygiene needs. The kits included dry rations, WASH and medical supplies, along with customized kits for pregnant women, new mothers and children between six months and two years of age.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Rajender Gurung, Circle CEO (NESA), Indus Towers Limited, said, “The scale of the floods in Assam has created immense challenges for thousands of families, disrupting access to food, healthcare and other basic necessities. At Indus Towers, our endeavour is to stand by the communities during times of adversity. We remain committed to supporting the recovery and resilience of the communities we serve across the Northeast.”

Employees of Indus Towers visited the affected areas and interacted with families during the relief distribution programme, reaffirming the company’s commitment to ensure timely support.

Indus Towers’ recent relief efforts in flood-affected areas of Arunachal Pradesh underscores its continued focus on helping communities across the Northeast.

Through its CSR programme, Pragati, the company will continue to work closely with local stakeholders and community partners to strengthen relief, recovery and resilience-building efforts in disaster-affected regions.

The relief distribution was implemented by the Northeast Affected Area Development Society (NEAID).
