Visakhapatnam, July 6, 2026: Inorbit Mall Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with Rohit Memorial Trust and Crossword Bookstores, hosted an enriching edition of Meet the Author featuring celebrated Indian author, poet and journalist Jerry Pinto, bringing together literature, healthcare advocacy and community engagement under one roof.
The event centered around Jerry Pinto's latest book, A Good Life: The Power of Palliative Care, sparking meaningful conversations on the importance of compassionate care for individuals living with serious illnesses. Through personal stories and thought-provoking insights, Pinto highlighted how palliative care extends beyond treatment to improve the quality of life for both patients and their families.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests including Mr. P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, MLA North Vizag, Ms. Roshni Aparanji Korati, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, Visakhapatnam Port Authority, Mrs. Anand, Executive Secretary, The Presidential Schools, Dr. Vidya Viswanath, Associate Professor, Palliative Medicine, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, and Dr. Eshwari Prabhakar, Principal, Visakha Valley School, along with members of the literary, medical and education communities.
As part of the evening, Jerry Pinto also unveiled the poster for the upcoming Dr. Ms. Jeyaraja Rao Memorial Interschool Public Speaking Boot Camp and Contest, an initiative led by alumni of Timpany School to encourage public speaking and leadership among young students.
The event also complemented Crossword's Book-a-thon, offering visitors the opportunity to engage with literature while participating in conversations around empathy, healthcare, and social responsibility.
