New Delhi | March 7, 2026: A national webinar on “Kaushal Bodh – Experiential Science: From Nature to Classroom” was successfully organized on Saturday, March 7, 2026, by SPACE India, bringing together school principals, academic leaders, and educators from across the country. The session highlighted the growing
importance of skill-based and experiential learning in science education and explored how schools can
integrate practical learning approaches into everyday classroom teaching.
The webinar focused on Kaushal Bodh, an initiative introduced by the National Council of Educational
Research and Training (NCERT), which aims to strengthen skill-based education by encouraging students to engage with science through hands-on exploration, observation, and real-world applications. The initiative promotes learning beyond textbooks and examinations, helping students develop curiosity, critical thinking, and
practical skills through experiential activities.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sachin Bahmba, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of
SPACE India, who emphasized the growing relevance of experiential science education in schools.
“India is steadily emerging as a pioneer in both education and space exploration. At SPACE India, we are
committed to elevating the frontiers of space and experiential education by aligning our initiatives with the objectives of Kaushal Bodh, enabling students to learn science through observation, inquiry, and real-world experiences,” said Dr. Bahmba.
He further invited participating schools to collaborate with SPACE India to strengthen space education programs
within their institutions. As part of this effort, SPACE India offered support through space education workshops, educational kits, and teaching assistance, enabling educators to introduce astronomy-based
experiential activities effectively in classrooms.
The webinar was hosted by Ms. Manalee Deka, Assistant Director (Education) at SPACE India, who introduced the concept and educational relevance of Kaushal Bodh in today’s academic landscape. The session was co-hosted by Aditi Mishra, who facilitated the event and supported audience engagement throughout the
discussion.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 50 school principals and academic leaders from across India. Participating institutions included Oxford English School, Patan (Gujarat), Royale Concorde International School, Bengaluru (Karnataka), Modern Public School, Basna (Chhattisgarh), EHIS Indore (Madhya Pradesh), and PM Shri NMMC CBSE School No. 94, Koparkhairane (Navi
Mumbai), among others.
During the discussion, educators explored how experiential learning activities—such as observing natural phenomena, studying celestial movements, and building simple scientific instruments like sundials—can help students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world experiences. Astronomy and space science were highlighted as powerful mediums for experiential learning, enabling students to engage in authentic scientific practices similar to those used by scientists.
The discussions also emphasized that initiatives like Kaushal Bodh align closely with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, which promotes inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary education, and the development of practical competencies among students.
