New Delhi, March 30, 2025 – The Rotary Club of Delhi Manthan, in association with Nexus Select Citywalk and Fitness First, and supported by Rotary Club of Delhi Shine, Rotary Club of Delhi South, and ACE Insurance Brokers, successfully concluded the "RECYCLE LIFE" Cycle Rally on March 30, 2025, marking a significant step towards promoting organ donation awareness in the city. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 250 cyclists, including young riders, medical professionals, and community leaders. Dressed in matching orange T-shirts featuring the slogan "Aang Daan Maha Daan," they cycled a 16 km route to champion the life-saving cause of organ donation.

The rally commenced with an energetic Zumba and stretching session by Fitness First, followed by the ceremonial flag-off by Dr. Mahesh Trikha, District Governor (Dist. 3011), who lauded Rotary's efforts in addressing the critical gap in organ donation. Cyclists rode past prominent medical institutions, including Moolchand Hospital, AIIMS, and Safdarjung Hospital, where the entire route was painted in pink to create awareness.

Delhi Traffic Police managed and secured the route for a comfortable experience. Select CityWalk opened its premises and provided venue and other facilities to the cyclists and Fitness First arranged different exercises for the cyclists.

With thousands of patients in India awaiting organ transplants, the gap between organ demand and supply remains alarmingly high. Myths, misinformation, and lack of awareness continue to hinder donor registrations. A single organ donor can save multiple lives by donating vital organs like the heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs. Through this initiative, Rotary seeks to bridge this gap and foster a culture of giving and compassion.

As a global leader in community service, Rotary International continues to champion health and humanitarian causes. The success of the "RECYCLE LIFE" Cycle Rally reinforces Rotary's commitment to creating a culture of compassion and giving. The club plans to build on this momentum with future initiatives to further organ donation awareness.
