Financial Planning Standards Board announces celebration of its 20th anniversary

Delhi, 3rd December 2024 – The global leader in the financial planning profession, Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), proudly announces the celebration of its 20th anniversary. Since its inception in 2004, the organization has been dedicated to establishing, upholding and promoting worldwide professional standards in financial planning with CFP certification as the global symbol of excellence.
Over the past two decades, FPSB and its global network of organizations have made significant strides to propel the global financial planning profession forward, including:
More than double the number of CFP professionals worldwide from 86,690 to 223,700 at a 158% increase.

India saw a surge in demand for professional financial planning advice, with the community registering a record 2731 CFP professionals in 2023, a 8.5% growth over 2022. Notably, India stands amongst top 5 countries by growth in CFP  professionals in 2023.

Growing the number of territories offering CFP certification from 17 to 28 territories, most recently in Italy.

Keeping pace with the changing needs and expectations of consumers, as well as the evolution in the practice of financial planning by professionals by updating global financial planning standards and certification requirements, including the addition of ‘Psychology of Practice’ course in financial planning, crypto finance and evolving investment strategies.
