Boca Raton, Fla., July 19, 2024- Crime victim advocate and Innocence Project supporter William Steel just added the passionate story of Michael Mota to his popular True Crime podcast series of interviews. The emotional, in-depth interview was posted to the William Steel YouTube channel last night, and his fans will be among the first to hear Mota's story first-hand.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Michael Mota originally planned a career in education before pivoting to the path of what he calls himself, "a serial entrepreneur," and a highly successful one. His life's work has focused on building clients up and turning them into global success stories.

Mota has shown over the years a passion for helping others, especially the homeless and veterans for whom he was building a shelter in his home state Rhode Island in a hospital he owned there before a series of 17 negative stories about him started appearing in the Boston Globe over a six month period for which he is suing the newspaper and the reporter Amanda Milkovits who wrote them all, charging most were "false and defamatory."

"It's time to hold people accountable and they'd better get their facts straight before damaging someone's reputation as they did to me," Mota told the popular true crime podcast host Steel. The negative press had a devastating effect on Mota's illustrious entrepreneurial career, including community projects like helping the state's homeless community while also causing his family emotional distress. Now, the Rhode Island native said he is fighting hard to reclaim his damaged reputation in a court of law.

"I'm a believer in honesty and integrity. People are allowed their opinions, but the Boston Globe "needed to vet her stories," yet Mota charges they didn't, despite her apparently having an axe to grind on his reputation.

Mota explained in the nearly hour-long interview how this reporter "set out to take me down, and her actions have caused my community and my family a great deal of pain.

"I'm not filing this lawsuit for me, I'm fighting for everyone else who has had their lives ruined by dishonest journalism. And I'm fighting for the people I wanted to help but could not because of projects being put on a permanent hold until I reclaim my name."
