Every year, the number of Indian students in Canada is multiplying thanks to flexible and smooth policies. As per the report, around 1.83 lakh Indian students are pursuing their studies in various fields and subjects. The number is expected to rise in 2023 as numerous Canadian universities and institutions have already started accepting applications worldwide.

This year, the immigration rules have been changed in some ways and have some revisions. A spokesperson from GEPSI, a prominent student visa consultancy, addressed the amendments made in the latest revision by the federal agency.

"We heard the good tides from the Canadian regulatory, which definitely is in the interest of students." The spokesperson stated that "the revision in the immigration rules allows students to extend their stay in Canada for up to three years following graduation, instead of two. It means students will get more time to obtain Canadian work experience to qualify for permanent residency."

"In addition to this, the Canadian authority cut down the work requirement period from 24 months to 12 months." The spokesperson added, "Once, the students complete three years? stay, they can start the application process for Canadian citizenship."

The Canadian regime also removed the 20-hour work limitation for international students in Canada with off-campus work authorization. The new rule will be valid from November 15, 2022, until December 31, 2023. Students who wish to work more than 20 hours a week will be allowed to do the same. By doing so, they can generate more income to support their stay and release the burden on their guardians.

However, GEPSI highlighted unpleasant news from the Quebec province. The government unveiled in the latest revision that from September 1, 2023, the students pursuing their study at Quebec's unsubsidized private institutions will no longer be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP). Only students studying in public and subsidized private institutions can apply for a post-graduation work permit. It means the students from the designated educational institutions will be able to obtain PGWP.

Many students dropped their studying plan in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the pandemic is slowly taking off, Canadian educational institutions are expected to have myriad applications in 2023. To outperform this application and secure admission to the reputed organization, you should visit a student visa consultant. They will help you with a hassle-free process for a student visa as well as getting an offer letter.
