BOSSE organizes International Conference for the Disabled

Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim recently conducted a one-day international conference, in collaboration with Global Rainbow Foundation, Mauritius. It was held at UNESCO?s New Delhi office auditorium.
The theme for the conference was, ?Educating, Enabling, and Empowering Divyanjan (Differently Abled Persons with Special Needs): Issues and Changes?.
GP Upadhyay, Additional chief secretary of Sikkim government was invited as the Guest of Honour at the event. He spoke about the many projects being undertaken by Sikkim government and the various challenges that came along with, and how the government was able to successfully tackle those.
The conference was chaired by Prof Armoogum Parsuramen, founder and chairman of the Global Rainbow Foundation and has also served as the former education minister of Mauritius.
Eric Falt, director and representative of UNESCO, New Delhi and patreon Hemant Goel also attended the conference. Director Falt, greatly appreciated the efforts of the Indian Government in the field of disability. He emphasized that everyone should have basic knowledge about sign language so that communication with the disabled people is easy everywhere. Resource people, Prof. NK Ambasht, Dr. Uma Tuli, Prof. KM Gupta, Prof. MC Sharma, Prof. MK Das and Anita Devraj.
On the other hand, Prof. Armoogum spoke about the prompt action and efforts of the BOSSE team for empowering people with disabilities.
GRF in India has planned out a series of workshops/ conferences under the patronage of UNESCO in complete collaboration with Government of India, in the field of disability, as mentioned by the press release.
