Praude Asset Management: Founder Massimo Malvestio speaks to “I Corrieri del Rispamio”

Massimo Malvestio is an established Italian lawyer who dedicated a significant part of his career to working as a legal consultant to several Italian and European banks, listed companies, and the largest enterprises in Northeast Italy. In addition to this, his professional path is characterized by many accomplishments he achieved in the financial and asset management sectors, among which are the establishment of Hermes Linder Fund SICAV in 2004 and Praude Asset Management Ltd. in 2009.

Value investing: an interview with Massimo Malvestio

A track record of performance of over 600% (compared to the fund's launch value) and an accrued performance for investors (net of fees) of 11.7%: these are some of the remarkable results achieved by Hermes Linder Fund SICAV, the fund launched by Massimo Malvestio in 2004 and currently managed by Praude Asset Management Ltd. In an interview with Italian magazine "I Corrieri del Rispamio", the Founder spoke about the value investing strategies adopted by the fund's management team. Hermes Linder Fund has "considerable freedom of movement, and today it invests mainly in Italy. We also use legal arbitration to drive performance, while leveraging on the opportunities offered by legislation. On average, these situations occur every three to four months", he explained in the interview. The expert in value investing pointed out that what led to the fund's strong growth was not only the excellent performance, but also "the word of mouth": "This is how we managed to have over 340 million euros of assets under management, with our fund among the best 1% of Small Cap funds by return in three of the last six years (Bloomberg)". Such brilliant performance is also confirmed by many international awards: Hermes Linder Fund was awarded the Thomson Reuter Lipper Fund Award for "Best Fund" over 3 years in the "Equity Europe 2017" category, and was granted a "five-star rating" by Morningstar. This is also a confirmation of Massimo Malvestio's ability to create value for the investors over time, as many of the fund's most successful operations are a result of his legal expertise combined with financial analysis.
