KENOSHA, WI (February 9th, 2022) - Kenosha COR or KCOR is holding an event on February 11 to honor leaders from the city's community for their work in protest of systemic racism and de-escalation of violence. The KCOR Interrupters Gala and Fundraiser event is being held as a celebration and fundraiser to support KCOR?s Violence Interruption and Prevention Program and to celebrate KCOR?s splendid work over the past year.

After a recent spate of racist incidents, heightened violence and abnormally high prejudice, members of KCOR joined hands to bring together different people from various backgrounds through block parties, through interruption of violence in the community, and the various conversations and methods of healing that they hope to bring to the Community so that the incidents can be stopped before more lives are claimed. This necessitated Kenosha COR or KCOR to develop leaders within communities of Kenosha to battle the systemic racism directed towards the various minority and marginalized groups.

The mission, the objective of KCOR is to make Kenosha a vibrant city of non-violence where people can live with pride, and without fear. Different parties with particular focus groups on formation of loving and effective families, rehabilitation from drug usage, fighting against discrimination from the powerful etc. are part of KCOR that have done great work in forming a better community and this Feb 11, people with the most impact are set to be awarded.

"Our members have done tremendous work in the past year since the group's formation. But without the association of certain groups like Kenosha County Public Health, Dooley and Associates, All of Us or None Wisconsin, United Coalition for Humanity, Jockey, UW Parkside etc. For that, we extend to them our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation. Join us this Feb 11 to thank people under various categories of award like KCOR People?s Choice Game Changer Award, Beneath The Surface Impact Award, The KCOR Unsung Interrupter?s Award, The Dr. Ameena Matthews Female Interrupter of the Year Award and many more! We can't wait to make a greater impact this coming year and make Kenosha a better place to live in for all communities ?in peace and harmony. Save The Date. Friday, February 11, 2022. 6:00 PM. First Annual KCOR Interrupters Gala and Fundraiser", said a member of Kenosha COR.
