MM(DU)’s Law Department organized International Conference VIDHI AVALOKAN-II

An International Conference VIDHI AVALOKAN-II was organized by the Department of Law, Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be) University, Mullana. The vision behind the conference was to delve into and deliberate on the law relating to human rights. The conference also aimed to generate awareness amongst the students of varied disciplines about the impact and implications of law concerning human rights issues.

VIDHI AVALOKAN-II was attended by many dignitaries from the law field. Justice Mr.Rajan Gupta (Judge, Patna High Court) was the Chief Guest for the conference while Sh. Deepak Gupta (District and Session Judge, Panchkula) was the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included big names like Dr. (Mrs.) Vinay Kapoor Mehra (Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Sonipat), Sh. Amit Sharma ( ADJ and OSD Punjab and Haryana Court, Chandigarh), Dr. Sukhda Pritam (CJM-cum-Secretary DLSA Ambala), Dr. Harish Kumar (Former Inspector General Prison and Sh. Suvir Siddhu (Member of Bar Council in India), Haryana. They all shared their valuable experiences with the students present. The conference also saw an online address by Dr Yasir Hamid (Business Attach to Iran Embassy to Qatar). Sh. Harish Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MM(DU) welcomed the dignitaries and Prof.(Dr.) Bindu Jindal, HOD, Law Department introduced the conference objectives.

VIDHI AVALOKAN-II also had a technical session that started after lunch in both online as well as physical mode. The conference ended with a Valedictory Programme followed by high tea. The conference was a huge success as it witnessed the presence of nearly 300 national and international participants; some of them even presented their papers.
