Praude Asset Management: “Focus Risparmio” interviews Massimo Malvestio

In 2009, lawyer Massimo Malvestio founded Praude Asset Management: licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), the asset management company provides investment solutions to professional clients. Legal profession and finance: an insight into Massimo Malvestio's career

Law practice, legal consultancy to Italian and European banks, listed companies, and enterprises, as well as many accomplishments achieved in the financial and asset management sectors: these are some of the key steps characterizing Massimo Malvestio's professional path, which he recalled during an interview with the Italian magazine "Focus Risparmio". Born in Treviso (Italy) in 1961, he graduated in Law from the University of Padova and, soon after, he enrolled in the Register of Lawyers and qualified to represent clients before the Italian Supreme Court. In 1990 he cofounded the "Studio Legale Barel Malvestio & Ass." law firm (later renamed "BM&A") and, as Managing Partner, he successfully led its commercial law practice. When he took a step back from the legal profession in 2014, the law firm employed more than 40 lawyers and had 4 offices in Italy. During the interview, Massimo Malvestio also recalled the legendary asset manager Mario Zarattini, a great friend of him: "Even before he moved to Lugano and founded his own bank", he said, "we had talked together about many projects in the financial sector". According to him, the strength of Hermes Linder Fund SICAV lies in "legal arbitration and its in-depth knowledge of the economic, financial and regulatory environment in which the fund operates", he pointed out, while adding that the fund's "value investing approach" is essentially based "on joint studies of companies' financial data, business plans and regulatory environments". These are the key aspects driving the fund's management team, and "not belonging to one sector or another", he said in conclusion. The excellent performance achieved is also confirmed by many international awards, including a "five-star rating" by Morningstar, and the Thomson Reuter Lipper Fund Award for "Best Fund" over 3 years ("Equity Europe 2017" category).
