Inauguration of Breast Clinic at MM Super-Specialty Hospital

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, MM Super-Speciality Hospital, inaugurated an exclusive Breast Clinic under MIS Dept., headed by Dr. Subhash Chawla.
Dr Hemangi Gandhi, senior resident of MIS Dept. welcomed all faculty and guests on the occasion of inauguration ceremony. The event was graced by the presence of Dr Ruby Bhatia, HOD of OBGY Dept, ex secretary of Indian Menopausal Society who was also the Chief Guest for the occasion. She also addressed the event talking about the importance of creating awareness surrounding breast cancer so that women can be sensitised about early detection of the disease and that makes this cancer treatable.
Dr. Subhash Chawla shared that the aim of starting this clinic is to create awareness amongst the patients regarding breast cancer and other breast related diseases. Evaluation of all suspected breast mass will be done by mammography and biopsy. This Breast clinic will provide FREE consultation and examination by a female surgeon from 26th to 30th Oct 2021. Patients will also be made aware about self-breast examination which helps in identifying the breast diseases at an early stage.
It is worth sharing that October month is celebrated as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All high risk females above the age of 40, with family history of breast cancer, should get regular screening done at the breast clinic. Early detection ensures complete cure in breast cancer and breast saving surgery is also possible.
