CREST Olympiads reported a 110% jump in student registrations

With the COVID 19 pandemic restricting traditional schooling and academic activities, the world of online Olympiads has witnessed a major surge. CREST Olympiads, a popular choice among students have reported a 110% jump in student registrations as an increasing number of parents seek to keep their children engaged in learning activities.

The CREST Olympiads, considered to be a prep foundation for exams like JEE, NEET, among others, has been conducting online Olympiads for quite some time in various subjects even for those students who may not have an option from the school for the same. While it witnessed encouraging participation in pre-COVID years as well, the year 2020 saw registrations hit the roof.

?COVID 19 brought about a sudden change in learning behaviors of children. With traditional academic activities suffering a jolt, online digital education tools have surged in popularity. Online Olympiads is one such field that has witnessed an overwhelming participation post COVID. CREST Olympiads registrations jumped 110% in 2020 as compared to 2019. Being in the online Olympiad realm, we were better prepared than some of the brick and mortar players who have been conducting pen and paper exams for past years,? said Mr. Nitin Godawat, Director, CREST Olympiads.

CREST Olympiads conducts exams in Mathematics, Science, English, Logical Reasoning, Cyber, and Spell Bee for students of classes 1 to 10. Beginner kids from Prep/KG can also appear for Maths, Science, and English Olympiads.

Interestingly, CREST received an overwhelming response for CREST Reasoning Olympiad (CRO) and CREST International Spell Bee (winter round) as well. Encouraged by the remarkable participation, it plans to conduct CREST International Spell Bee - Summer Round again in June 2021. CREST Olympiads also launched a new unique SchoolPlus program covering Olympiad Exam preparation and skills essential for the future.

?We leveraged the growing opportunity for digital learning by expanding our ambit to other countries. CREST Olympiads has forged partnerships in the UAE, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and got students from 25+ countries participate in its Olympiads in 2020. The behavioral shift brought about by the pandemic is likely to continue even after the pandemic ebbs and normalcy returns. Students who have got accustomed to the wide array of interesting digital tools will continue to use them even in a post COVID world,? added Godawat.

Online competitive examinations offer several benefits. Not only can students appear in these tests from the comfort of their homes, but also have the liberty of choosing the date and time for appearing according to their convenience. The process also helps students maintain continuity even in the pandemic when conventional coaching and testing institutes have been closed.
