The Latest Canada Express Entry Draw Welcomes Qualified Tradespersons

On 26th June 2019, the most highly eligible registrants under the Federal Skilled Trades Program of the Canada Express Entry System were invited to apply for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). 3,350 invitations to apply were issued to candidates who scored 462 or more points based on the selection factors of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

The CRS point score of the lowest-ranked candidate to be selected is known as the cut-off point. The cut-off point for this round of invitations was 462 ? the point score of the candidate who was ranked 3,350th in the Express Entry pool of applications. In case more than one applicant has attained the lowest score, the Express Entry profile that was submitted first is considered. In this round, only those who submitted their profiles on or before 11th May 2019 at 17:40:54 UTC were considered.

The Express Entry System processes applications from skilled workers under three distinct streams:

? Federal Skilled Worker Program ? for skilled professionals engaged in occupations that are highly in demand in Canada.
? Federal Skilled Trades Program ? for skilled workers who are qualified to practice skilled trades.
? Canada Experience Class ? for skilled workers who have work experience in Canada.

Aspirants under each stream are attributed Canada immigration points and a corresponding rank, based on the CRS criteria ? human capital, spouse or common-law-partner credentials (if applicable), skill transferability, and additional factors. The highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence through regular draws conducted by the IRCC.

Within 60 days of receiving the invitation, a candidate must submit a complete Canada PR visa application to IRCC ? the federal immigration authority. This includes supporting documents to validate the claims made in the Expression of Interest, medical and security checks, and relevant fees.
