Lifesaver Air Ambulance in Ranchi Successfully Transferred a Swine Flu Patient

29 Jan. 19, Ranchi- We are proud to announce that we transferred a Swine Flu patient by our Air Ambulance in Ranchi that was equipped with IDM. Swine Flu has emerged to be the most challenging for health regulatory of India during these days. Everyday several people are being diagnosed with this virus and the worst part is that tier -2 cities like Ranchi do not have proper medical facilities to counter the wide-spread Sine Flu virus. Hence people are compelled to move to major cities in order to have the treatment. Last week we successfully evacuated a critical patient diagnosed with H1N1. It was first of its kind of Air Ambulance operation from the city.

The call was from a local hospital and they wanted to transfer the patient on an immediate basis. It was reported that before calling to Lifesaver Air Ambulance customer support they had already called other Air Ambulance operator in the city but none of them were ready to transport him as they were not having Infectious Disease module on their Air Ambulance in Ranchi. We took this call as a challenge and rushed our ground team on the spot to collect the patient summary. In the meanwhile, Aircraft was being equipped with the Infectious Disease Module and other necessary arrangements were made. We decided to provide a bed to bed transfer as the patient was unconscious. In a few hours, we boarded the patient to the Air Ambulance which took flight from the Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi. Special clothing was worn by the crew member in order to avoid any infection. All this required great expertise and skills. Normal patient transfer is not that complicated but in such evacuations, all the crew member has to be alert all the time to ensure the safe and comfortable patient transportation.

After an hour the Air Ambulance landed in Delhi and our road ambulance equipped with similar facilities took the patient to the pre-decided hospital for further treatment.
