Sovereign Home Improvements is an Essex based company that provides all types of home improvement from double glazing to new doors, to conservatories and orangeries, and to kitchens.
This is a family run business that has the talent to tackle any size of job and has a firm belief in producing top quality workmanship at a fair price.
As Managing Director Matthew Adair says ?We have some great reviews on sites like CheckaTrade, Which? Trusted Trader, Google, and Facebook, and therefore we get so many recommendations from happy customers. We value that highly, and it also means that we can keep our prices very competitive because we hardly need to advertise. Most of our sales come from word of mouth, and we intend to keep it that way.?
As with many home improvement companies, much of Sovereign?s work involves double glazing and new front doors. In particular, the company has been a big supply of replacement double glazing in Romford. Adair says that it started with one customer recommending a neighbour and the business has just grown and grown.
However, double glazing is not the only skill that Sovereign Home Improvement has by any means.
The company has many enquiries for extensions of all types ? not only an additional room or a loft conversion, but for conservatories and orangeries as well.
What?s the difference between a conservatory and an orangery anyway?
Adair explains? ?They are somewhat similar, both involving a lot of glass, but an orangery will often have a brick base where a conservatory has glass from floor to ceiling. Orangeries came first, back in the 17th century when wealthy families would import orange and lime trees and needed somewhere warm to house them. The orangery often contained a stove for extra heat during the winter months. But as citrus and other fruits such as pineapples became imported more often, and cheaper, the orangery often housed other delicate plants instead.?
?An orangery can be attached to the house or it can be free-standing, whereas a conservatory is attached to the house, and has more glass, making it a room in which to sit in the summer. However, today, with the advent of the energy efficient glass that we now have, and the addition of some heating, the conservatory can be used all year round, as indeed can the orangery, but the latter is used more to house tender plants. You can still grow oranges and pineapples in it if you wish!?
Doors of All Types?
Apart from double glazed windows, conservatories, and orangeries, Sovereign Home Improvements also installs doors of all types including composite doors, uPVC doors, French doors, patio doors, and bi-folding doors.
The uPVC doors are usually used for the rear of the home and can have a half panel which has glass at the top to allow more light, or can be fully glazed top to bottom. The company is also getting more enquiries for sliding glass doors to lead on to patios and decking. Sovereign only uses the highest quality uPVC for their doors to ensure that they will not discolour and will stay looking great for many years.
Of course, when talking about doors, security must be uppermost in your mind. Sovereign installs Ultion locks in all its doors which, as Adair says, ?is a locking system that when it?s locked, it stays locked, no matter what.?
When the Ultion system detects an attack there is a hidden lock within the door which automatically engages so that even if the lock was snapped twice nothing would get past it. Even if the householder left a key in the lock on the inside it would not affect the performance.
In addition to the other work that it does, Sovereign also fits soffits and fascias, and carries out flat roofing installation and repairs.
The soffits are ventilated in accordance with current building regulations to allow air to circulate in the roof space, reducing the chance of condensation and rotting of roof timbers.
All soffits and fascias are produced in Sovereign Home Improvements? factory to the exact specifications required and using only the finest materials that have been approved by the company?s own in-house experts.
