Thanks to the generosity of Culver City-headquartered Goldrich Kest and its 60 Acts of Kindness program, more than 100 Culver City seniors enjoyed a hearty, all-American breakfast at a volunteer recognition event. Presented by the Culver City Senior Center, the event is among the activities it organizes to further its mission of providing educational, recreational and social services that meet the needs and interests of seniors, residents with disabilities and all members of the general community.
“The Culver City Senior Center is one of the community’s most vital and important resources for cherished members. It helps improve their quality of life and assist them in remaining independent for as long as possible,” said Goldrich Kest Director of Marketing Leslie Suder, who said that her company was built on a bedrock of philanthropy. “Sponsoring this breakfast is our way of supporting local seniors and turning the spotlight on the good work performed by the center.”
Established in 1972, the Culver City Senior Center offers numerous programs and services that lead to personal growth, improved health and enriching life experiences.
Goldrich Kest was founded more than 60 years ago by Jona Goldrich and Sol Kest, both Holocaust survivors who have since passed. They launched their company in 1957 with $200 in their pockets and parlayed that into an extensive portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial, and retail space. Among their projects are 120 apartment buildings with 13,188 units, 5 marinas with 2,139 slips, 24 senior living facilities with 4,248 beds, and, scattered throughout the US, more than 11 million square feet of non-residential space. 70 of their apartment buildings accommodate low-income families and Goldrich Kest offers free after-school and summer programs to keep its young residents engaged and eager to learn.
