It is an unfortunate fact of life that as we age our skin becomes drier and thinner, making it less elastic. In turn, the collagen weakens and fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear on our faces. Exposure to sunlight is another factor which causes loss of collagen and proteins. In addition, sunlight can cause age spots and an uneven tone to the skin. Furthermore, wrinkles can also appear as a result of facial tensions. Facial muscles can cause frown lines and worry lines.

Fortunately, all of these things can be treated ? not permanently ? but they can be treated so that the wrinkles can be smoothed out and cleared up. Circle Dental of Stretford, based just close to the Trafford Centre, is now offering patients anti-wrinkle treatment in addition to its usual dentistry practice.

There are two main types of treatment available, one of which is the injection of botulinum toxin which is usually known by its? trade name of Botox?. This is basically a purified protein that is produced by Clostridium Botulinum bacteria. It is used to treat three main areas ? the frown, forehead, and crow?s feet. It can also be used to create different effects on the eyebrows. Very minute amounts of Botox are injected and have the effect of temporarily weakening over-active muscles which results in the reduction of winkles and lines caused by those muscles.

The result of Botox treatments usually lasts for around three months before another treatment will be needed, but as time goes on the gap between treatments will become longer.

Dermal fillers effectively replace lost hyaluronic acid in the skin. This is a natural moisturiser in the skin and again, as we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid diminishes causing the skin to dry out. The deeper layers of skin also lose fatty tissue, and the overall effect is that the skin begins to sag, producing marionette lines and nasio-labial folds.

Dermal fillers have the effect of ?replacing? the hyaluronic acid and effectively attracting moisture to these sites causing the skin to plump up once more and giving it a younger look. Dermal fillers usually only require repeat treatments every six months or so. The main advantages of these treatments are the fact that when we know that we look younger, we feel better and have more confidence. Get More information on at http://www.circledental.co.uk/.
