After enticing pink city?s royals with its colossal showroom, Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jaipur, recently opened the sprawling 1800sqft store located in one of the posh districts of South Delhi. Featuring a scrumptious sm?rgasbord of the fine art of jewellery & a lavish architecture, the new store looks like a whimsical museum.

The label?s second standalone boutique in the country and first in the Indian capital, whiffs of a soothing welcome with softly textured walls at the entry vestibule, inspired by the colonial art. With a greeting room to hail, the store gives way to a single-styled theme inspired by the Art-Deco movement that originated in the 1920s.

Paying homage to the royal mansions of Rajasthan, space exudes a gentle fusion of British Colonial style and Rajasthan?s architecture typified by custom-made French-styled furniture, extensive use of multiple kinds of wood, and an ethereal celebration of pastel silhouettes. Swathed in a luxurious mood, the design centres on a lush space with antique showpieces, French-styled mirrored console tables, warm ship wood flooring, plush carpets and the walls painted in a delicate sage green pantone. Balmy colours, finely curated antiques and a flamboyant display of the bespoke jewellery designs reflect the brand?s fondness for an art-filled extravagance.

Divided into several columns, the well-lit boutique is reminiscent of Baradari ? a popular symbolism of Rajput-Mughal architecture where pillars are a significant part of the design layout. Also, ranging from the motifs on the floor to the shape of the mirrors, from the sturdy pillars to the revamped logo of Birdhichand, octagon remains an unswerving element of design throughout the openly spaced store.

The style haven is designed in a layout that feels domestic and much like an opulently created home. The greeting room is followed by a large living area punctuated by partition screens exclusively designed with natural vegetable-dyed block prints. From the bucker art crystal vase to the spectacular centrepiece ? an F & C Osler signed chandelier ? a part of the Bikaner Palace in the 1900s, the store is a luxe spread oozing royalty & magnificence. For the weary shoppers, the store is sprinkled with cosy wooden chairs & calming couches which have been hand woven in accordance with the taste of the store. A part of the Birdhichand collection has been neatly displayed in the glass-framed almirahs, along with several objet d?art that have caught the designer?s eyes over the years.

While walking towards the end of the boutique store, a wooden door aligned with fine floral fabrics transports you to a surreal land called The Bridal Room. Made of white oak wood, the Bridal Room is the place where dreams come true. A Venetian octagonal mirror and French candle stands are a few relics of the ancients that add a sense of exclusivity & charm to the most eminent room of the boutique store. A handmade wooden trunk clad with leather specially designed in Jaipur has been placed on the left-hand side of the room, offering a theatrical experience where the bride would be seated and styled in the bespoke jewellery by Birdhichand.
