Akhilesh Srivastava to Represent India in the 4th Roads and Highways Conference

A non-profit organization called the International Road Federation from Geneva is on the quest to develop Safe Roads and Smart Mobility. The international forum along with the Marcus Evans is jointly hosting an event called the 4th Annual Roads and Highways. The global conference, which is going to host 20 well-known industry experts and distinguished speakers from across the world, is themed around the topic called ?Transforming roads of the future by redefining strategic road networks.?

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, Chief General Manager (IT & Highway Operations) of NHAI, will head the Indian delegation and is one of the distinguished speakers at the event. This conference will take place at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore. This conference will cover various discussions, case studies and key presentations from well-renowned industry experts across the world. The main agenda of the conference is to redefine the road infrastructure, for which the various governments across Asia have joined hands to participate in this grand event.

The roads and highways have always been the most important part of a nation?s growth and development, and it is essential to improve the commute experience of the users in order to stimulate the socio-economic development of a country. As the cities are expanding and the number of vehicles is increasing, traffic congestion has become a major source of frustration for the road users and this is not just the case with India, the whole Asian continent is suffering from the similar issues.

From the Indian side, Mr Akhilesh Srivastava will speak about the Chinese Government?s One Belt One Road Initiative (OBOR) and highway modernisation. OBOR is the latest development strategy with the firm focus on connecting and cooperating Eurasian countries. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava is leading various highway modernisation in India, which includes FASTags, Electronic Toll Collection (ETC), Distance based tolling, Wayside Amenities (Highway Nest, Highway Nest (Mini), Highway Village) and more.
His meritorious involvement in these initiatives is the reason why he has been selected as a speaker at the 4-day conference, which is scheduled from 9th April 2018. His experience, expertise and rigorous efforts in highway development field have guided the NHAI towards the pathway of success, and he will now be sharing all this expertise on a global platform via this conference and also bring the beneficial insights on road infrastructure and development from other global experts.
