BVG dedicates 108 emergency mobile App for Maharashtra

? Emergency services now available at click of a button

Mumbai:In a bid to further provide relief to people in need of emergency medical assistance to needy people, Bharat Vikas Group (BVG), India\'s Largest Integrated Services Company announced launch of Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services - unique mobile application platform.

Launched in 2013, Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) is a project of Government of Maharashtra under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and implemented and operated by BVG India Ltd. Citizens across Maharashtra today avail free ambulance medical emergency by dialing toll free number ?108?. BVG has implemented a network of around 1000 ambulances across the state of Maharashtra, well equipped with medicines, lifesaving equipment and a doctor on call 24 X 7 services.BVG had set up a state of the art ?Emergency Response Centre? (ERC) is developed at Aundh Chest Hospital Pune. ERC operates 24 x7 and all calls dialed to 108 from across Maharashtra from any mobile or landlinenumber, reach the ERC, from the expert call handlers understand the emergency and connect the patient to the doctor in the ambulance and dispatch the nearest ambulance to rescue the patient.

Taking the successful journey forward, BVG announced MEMS 108 emergencymobile application, will provide emergency services at the click of a button.MEM is now easier than ever, the mobile app ? ?Dial 108 BVG MEMS Helpline? ?will make the service available within minutes. Significantly, the app will report the medical emergencies to close relatives and friends of the user, by sending them a text message (SMS). For that their contact details will have to be registered with the application at the time of download. The free to download appis available on android and IOSplatforms. The application is available for free download on Google Playstore. The application will provide quick Response and immediate assistance to the users, whenever they are faced with any real life medical emergency. The mobile application will automatically track users? location and will connect to the ERC, while simultaneously sending out a system alert to the nearest assistance team.

Once contact is made through call or SMS Text with 108 services, the emergency response officer sitting at ERC will automatically get details like name and location of the caller and they will immediately dispatch ambulance services to that location within the response time. This will result in reducing the response time to the emergency by few more minutes. The app also provides options where you can choose whether the emergency is to be reported for self or for others.

Speaking about the new app, Mr. Hanmant. R.
