New York State officially proclaims June 19-22, 2017 as ?Energy Week in the Empire State,? while ?celebrating its fifth anniversary as the largest annual, week-long series attracting energy?s most influential professionals, policy makers, thought leaders, and stakeholders.?
NEW YORK, June 14, 2017 --The fifth anniversary of New York Energy Week, created by EnerKnol, received an official New York State Proclamation from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, recognizing June 19-22, 2017 as Energy Week.
New York State acknowledged New York Energy Week as ?the largest annual, week-long series attracting energy?s most influential professionals, policy makers, thought leaders, and stakeholders?. ?The Empire State is a leader in efforts to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and develop clean energy technologies and programs.?
?For the past five years, New York Energy Week has showcased the achievements and the challenges of the energy industry, fueling industry collaboration, investment in new ideas, and the sharing of cost-saving best practices.?
The State?s Proclamation stated that "quickly-evolving industries can be both highly competitive and highly siloed, and the dialogue, personal connections and collaborations forged between energy market participants at New York Energy Week are valuable and worthy.?
Governor Cuomo highlighted New York?s leadership in the nation?s commitment to increasing clean energy development through the use of energy efficiency and renewable and alternative energy supplies, while also emphasizing the need to support the transition away from fossil fuels toward clean energy. ?He discussed the intersection between innovative state programs and New York Energy Week.
?New York Energy Week welcomes today?s leaders, market makers, and shapers of the future of energy worldwide and this series fosters industry advancement and cross-sector collaboration to guide the future of the global energy industry; we join in support of this initiative that will help New York and other states create a dynamic clean energy economy, empowering communities and customers to take control of their energy use, driving local economic growth and revitalization, improving the resiliency of our energy system, and protecting our environment,? declared the Governor.
The fifth annual New York Energy Week kicks on Monday, June 19th with the Opening Night. The lineup ?includes key executives from state?s utility Con Edison, the Mayor?s Office of Sustainability, and technology innovator Power Edison. Other events will include energy specialists from PA Consulting, ABB and others. The series also features an energy plant tour including a co-generation power plant, at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and an electrical vehicle demonstration by Tesla.
