Nepal, 15th Feb, 2017 - Trekking in the Himalayas kingdom of Nepal is certainly a lifetime experience and everyone dreams of it. However, good planning is the key to your successful trekking in Himalaya. As a responsible trekking agency in Nepal, we feel it is our responsibility to guide for a successful trek in the Himalayas. Therefore, we have prepared a simple check list for the people who want to trek the Himalayas effectively. Here we go:
Don?t trek alone:
As a general rule of thumb trekking alone in the majestic Himalayas isn?t recommended. The major disadvantage is that in case of a mishap or an unexpected session of altitude sickness, you may get stranded for days far away from real civilization. So, it is always advisable to trek in group. However, sole trekking can be done in Nepal.
Trek with a professional guide:
If it?s your 1st ever trek, hire a professional guide. You just want to ensure that it?s a good guide who comprehend & respect your desires. If feasible, arrange a face-to-face meeting before trekking in Nepal. In various part of the Himalaya, local guides can be rented without breaking your bank.
Camping trek vs teahouse trekking:
If you carry your own camping equipment on a trek, or if you?re booking a camping trek via trekking firm, you?ll have additional feasibility of discovering the more isolated mountain regions. It?s an excellent way to get rid of the beaten route and ignore the crowd or other hikers. In places like Nepal, it?s simple to board on a teahouse trek where you?ll be staying in family operated lodges all through the trail. Usually, these lodges and teahouses are discovered up to 4000m altitude and are opened throughout the year.
Ideal time to trek in the Himalayas:
Hiking in the Himalayas can be done all through the year, but the most favorable time of trekking is generally considered September, October, and November for the south side of the Himalayas, and July, August, September for the north side of the Himalayas. Trekking during the winter season is also a decent option, as there won?t be a great number of trekkers & the climate remains pretty clear. But you have to be ready for high mountain passes which are closed for days because of intense snow-fall. So, if you?re on a very tight schedule, you might have to abolish your hike during this period. March-April-May-July (pre-monsoon) is usually considered the 2nd-best time for hiking in the Himalayas. The climate is generally good, though it can be a little hazy.
