Nepal, 28th Jan, 2017 - The historic isolated Mustang trek open up the formerly Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang, settled far from the rest of the globe, lies just north to the premier Himalayan range of Nepal. Mustang, a province where the spirit of the man is still believed to as genuine as the feet he strolls on: a a province believed to be "barren as a dead deer" but where happiness and beauty flourish regardless of hardship, was a unit of the Tibetan Kingdom of Gungthang until 1830's. The wall city of Lo Monthang, unofficial capital of Mustang still stays a realm within a realm. The history of Lo Monthang is adorned with myth & legends. Mustang has retained its reputation as a separate part until 1951. The king of Lo Monthang still maintains his title & he has been awarded the honorable position of Colonel in the Nepal army.
Hiking in Mustang was officially unlocked in 1992. it permits limited amount of hikers every yeat to safeguard & preserve the local Tibetan custom and the delicate surrounding. A hike into this legendary forbidden monarchy of massive, arid gorges, scoured canyons, yak caravans, ochre valley, colorfully painted mud-brick homes on the backdrop of royal mountains of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Tukche and Dhaulagiri makes your historic walled monarchy Mustang hiking a pretty special one.
?At Satori Adventures Nepal, we organizes treks regularly to the Himalayan Kingdom of Mustang aiming at TIJI festival ? a 3-days long ceremony recognized as " The chasing of the Demons", - one of the best carnival of the province. During the festival period monks outfitted in elaborated costumes & masks do dances & rituals that are believed to drive away bad spirits. Outfitted in their attire, people across Mustang hoard up in Lo Monthang to rejoice the Tiji festival? said a spokesperson.
The Upper Mustang trek itself doesn?t go to extremely high elevations and isn?t physically exceedingly diffuclt, but unforgiving afternoon winds could be a challenge. Due to the winds & lack of adequate water, camping will be accomplished in villages, which aren?t always handily spaced. Some hiking days will therefore be considerably long & others relatively short. These are, nevertheless, the conditions if you wish to experience the unconditional beautiful & highly ethical land of Mustang, a hike which is recommended highly.
