A “Salute to Our Heroes” Benefit Gala Veteran’s Day

Coconut Creek, FL-----THEY pledged allegiance to the flag, just like us. But the AMERICAN VETERAN SHOWED ALLEGIANCE by risking life, limb and sanity to serve in our military to keep US safe & keep America SAFE and free. The Military pledged ?to leave no soldier behind,? and America in turn pledged to take care of our Veterans when they returned. To honor their sacrifice to our nation by making them whole again IF they were lucky enough to return to the life they left.
Did you know that 22 AMERICAN VETERANS COMMIT SUICIDE EACH day WAITING FOR HELP from the VA? Engulfed in red tape so ensnaring, 11,000 US veterans are failed each year. And the others wait, and wait, in physical or mental pain. Their lives, their families lives are torn apart when they leave to serve our country, but virtually blown apart when they return trying to pick up the pieces. It?s no secret the VA ?under-serves,? to put it mildly. That they are virtually incapable of handling the throngs of veterans grappling with the ravages of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). IF PTSD alone was responsibly managed, SO MANY of our Veterans could live the life they were promised by the country they love and so honorably served.
Peace And Life for Veterans, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit, state and federally accredited* organization has been at the forefront of this ?fight.? This organization is gratefully right here, right in our own backyard and their mission is to simply help the United States Veteran get the help they so richly deserve and were promised. Started by 3 mental health professionals, Peace for Life raises funds to train other mental health workers in how to properly treat PTSD regardless of VA participation so the veteran needing the help NOW, gets it NOW avoiding the web of red tape. They offer a ground-breaking accredited CEU (15 hour continuing educational course) FREE to any mental health worker from counselor to psychiatrist willing to agree to treat 2-3 VETERANS in their practice (over just 1 year) for reduced fees or pro bono. Think about this, if every mental health professional helped just 1 veteran with PTSD, it removes an unmet burden from an unresponsive VA, and it saves the lives of Veterans, honorably, professionally and with the dignity and respect they deserve.
At Peace and Life for Veterans they aid not just the patient, they help the whole family address their issues, feel less alone and cope. And in turn help the communities that are often at a loss to know how to address these very specialized issues taking the pressure off local and state budgets. Providing these veterans with in-home support, in office support if they?re able to travel or via Skype, the targeted, focused counseling, education, guidance, information and professional therapy so desperately needed?affording these veterans and their families the hope, forward direction and a quality of life we take for granted, and they were PROMISED for serving. Doesn?t America owe them at least that? And if America has broken her promise, this organization, this earth-shattering idea can at least try to right a very dire wrong.
