Shalimar celebrated Durga Pooja 2016 with a social message Event: Shalimar Samaj Kalyan Samman 2016

Kolkata, West Bengal, 19/10/2016 - Shalimar famous for its Flagship product Coconut Oil, Hair Oil & Spices have taken up a social initiative this Durga Pooja. Lot of companies do CSR activities but Shalimar distinguishes itself by giving it a true essence and objective. Like ?Maa Durga? removed all the evils from the earth, similarly, Shalimar has taken an initiative to help the under privileged by eliminating poverty and bring a ray of hope.

There are countless SARAD SAMMAN awards in circulation currently but there is a difference when Shalimar is conducting it. Their social initiative was initiated in 2002 and since then Shalimar is engage in delivering the CSR objective.

SHALIMAR SAMAJ KALYAN SAMMAN ? This is a unique effort to give recognition to the social service work rendered by Pooja committees. Initially the fund collected from their society was used to decorate the pandal lavishly and deck up durga maa. Post this social initiative, Pooja committees have started putting an amount side for social work. Shalimar executive?s job is to see how the funds are being utilized and an esteemed panel of judges decide who the winner is.

So this year more than 300 puja committees had participated and a team from Shalimar end shortlisted 100 puja committees and visit them to check out the authenticity of their claims. Our esteemed judges were:-

Post this esteemed panel of judges have selected the top ten just before Mahalaya & winners were declared on Saptami. This is one of the most awaited CSR campaign every year during poojas. All committees anxiously wait to be a part of this grand event. In the process a lot of underprivileged are supported.
