July was a hot month in [Temecula] - not just for the thermometer, but for home sales as well. Temecula home sales normally increase this time of year, due to the modified year round school schedules in the area. Temecula schools start in August, so with a standard 30 day escrow, July is the last month to ensure families will be in their new homes in time for the start of school.
July was hot! says John C. Lewis, Owner & Broker for [Realty Executives of Temecula Valley](http://JohnLewis.RealtyExecutivesTemeculaValley.com). July is traditionally the last good month for home sales of the year, because of the schools. There will still be sales, obviously, through the end of the year, but July is the last of the hot months for home sales, Lewis continued. Also, the price of houses in Temecula is about a third lower than in San Diego and Los Angeles, so a lot of people come here to get more for their money, says Lewis.
Located just 30 miles north of San Diego, in Riverside Countys Inland Empire, Temecula has approximately 100,000 residents. Known for its award winning wineries, Temecula is also home to a number of up and coming microbreweries as well.
The schools in Temecula, are very good, says Brian W., a Realty Executives customer. Some of the schools are very good academically, while others have excellent sports programs. The good schools, combined by the lower prices make Temecula a great alternative to San Diego and Los Angeles, Brian said.
Temecula is has a very authentic and quaint old west-themed, downtown area, which hosts cowboy gun fights, classic car shows, holiday parades and the nearby Balloon and Wine Festival.
