Kevin Durant autographed memorabilia demand is at an all time high
With Kevin Durant joining the Golden State Warriors, a new fan base of autograph collectors has emerged. The 2016/17 season will be the best ever for Kevin Durant and sports memorabilia dealers alike http://gamedaylegends.com
While many people are dumping their Oklahoma City Thunder Durant signed memorabilia, investors are looking at this as a buying opportunity. As the saying goes, one mans trash is another mans treasure. Durant has broken the hearts of so many dedicated fans and the common sentiment amongst them is to get rid of their memorabilia. But hold on, says Erich Ekstedt, President and CEO of Game Day Legends. The people getting rid of their Oklahoma City Thunder memorabilia are doing so for emotional reasons. Sports Memorabilia is no longer about emotion, its about investing, says Ekstedt. When Durant joined the Warriors he opened up the door to a growing fan base, and with that fan base comes sports memorabilia investors. According to Ekstedt, there will be a huge upswing in Durant sales and with short demand comes higher prices. Just like stocks and real estate, it is essential to buy in a down market and sell in an up market. The same holds true for sports memorabilia.
One thing I advise all of my clients is to buy smart. What I mean from buy smart is to buy items that will only go up in value. For example, it would be a better investment to buy a Kevin Durant signed limited edition MVP jersey then it would be to buy a standard non-limited jersey. People tend to want what they cant have, and usually will pay more for it.
Buy limited and buy authentic says Ekstedt, the truest way to guarantee the purchase is an investment.
