MobiKwik targets 25k daily bus bookings by Dec '16

Delhi leads bus bookings on the MobiKwik platform, followed by Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and Kolkata. Maximum number of booking are made on the MobiKwik app (85%), followed by the MobiKwik website (15%).

Leading mobile wallet brand MobiKwik aims to facilitate 25,000 daily bus bookings by December 2016, sharply higher than the 2,000 a day it does currently.

The company had launched its bus booking service in May 2016.

An Ernst & Young report on the sector in India noted that the online travel market grew rapidly at a CAGR of 51.8% from $1.5 billion in 2007 to $8 billion in 2011. A Deutsche Bank report predicts that the Indian travel industry will grow at a CAGR of 10% to reach $111 billion by 2020, and will be the second fastest to grow worldwide.
