Hotcampus College Marketplace Opening Soon

Hotcampus is launching a new service targeted at university campuses in the United States. Hotcampus is a free college marketplace that makes it easy for college members to buy and sell on their university campus. There is currently no other platform offering a similar service on national scale, although there were indications that other startups have previously worked on the idea, but without much success.

Hotcampus team says they are going to reveal more on the launch day, but it is clear that the service is targeted mostly to students around campuses in the US. It will be free to use and aims to lower the education costs for students while making it a secure marketplace. Students will be able to buy and sell between them easily and save or make some money. Say, a student will be able to sell a book s/he doesn't need and make some money out of it, whereas the buyer student will save money buy buying a used book for cheaper. The exchange will happen on campus and no actual payment is done at Hotcampus. The service is totally free to use and virtually anything can be sold. While students will be the majority user groups, anyone with a university email can register. Hotcampus states that the email verification they do helps increase security and prevent any misdeed, since university email are easily verifiable. Moreover, Hotcampus will provide safe places on campus for college members to meet for the 'trade' when such official recommendations are available from universities.

The college marketplace that Hotcampus is offering on national scale seems like a great idea. However, it remains to see how successful it will be with students and other college members, since others have failed so far with similar services. Hotcampus is working on making small improvements to its platform and has stated no official launch date, however it is expected to be launched somewhere in January.
