Vietnam Discovery Travel Announced Vietnam visa Free for UK citizens

As reported by Vietnam Discovery Travel JSC., operator of Vietnam-visa.com, Vietnamese Government announced Vietnam visa free for citizens of five European countries, including the United Kingdom. In details, all UK citizens may stay in Vietnam for up to 15 days without a Vietnam visa. But this policy is only applied from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, and their arrival date must be at least 30 days from exit date of their previous stay in Vietnam with visa exemption.

It means that UK citizens who wish to stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days or come back Vietnam within 30 days from their previous exit should apply for a Vietnam visa. In this case, they may obtain one in either of the following ways:

1. Apply for visa at Vietnam Embassy
This is the traditional way of applying for Vietnam visa. With this option, UK citizens are highly recommended to contact the embassy in advance for exact information about required documents to be submitted for visa application, in order to avoid several travels.

2. Apply for Vietnam visa on arrival
With this option, UK travelers will no longer need to contact Vietnam embassy or travel across any distance to any local authority, the only thing they need is a device with internet access to submit online application for visa approval letter to a travel agent in Vietnam, receive the letter via email and get visa stamped onto their passport upon arrival at Vietnam airport.

Despite being introduced later than the first option, the later has been much preferred by a lot of travelers to Vietnam for its convenience and simplicity. However, this option supports those traveling to Vietnam by AIR only.
