Carltonclean.co.uk augments capacity to meet last minute and Christmas Orders.

December 14, 2015: Carltonclean.co.uk has added 2 more dry cleaning machines in order to augment its existing capacity to cater to the orders that are expected to be placed for the holiday season falling in between Christmas and the New Year.

Announcing this to the Press, the CEO of Carlton Cleaners said "Like each year this year too we are expecting an increase in demand that is likely to peak in the last two weeks of December. Since our lead time is 2- 3 days we want to be consistent with the cut-off dates for order acceptance and delivery. That is why we don't want to increase the lead time to 3- 4 days. Hence we have decided to add additional capacity in order to meet additional demand.

As per industrial research data that is in the public domain, the dry-cleaning industry is a seasonal business and the summer months are lean seasons especially the months of April to September. These are the summer months in which there are hardly any orders because rarely anyone wears woollen dresses, suits and other delicate and expensive garments that require careful handling. Any winter clothes during these months are very rarely used. With the onset of autumn the demand begins to increase and it peaks in the months of winter.

The CEO further said "At Carltonclean.co.uk another innovation that we are planning to introduce in this season is that instead of buying brand new machines from the market we will instead take the machines on a wet lease from the manufacturers. A wet lease means that we will not only pay the rent of the machine; but will also be responsible for its repairs and maintenance. Any part that requires a replacement will be purchased by us and we will also pay for the labour charges associated with the replacement.

As per sources in Carltonclean.co.uk, the drycleaner will start using the machines at its main plant located in Bury. Staff to be placed at the plant is already available to run the machines and a place to house the machines has already been identified to put the machines. Installation will be done in a day and the machine will become operational in 2 days. With this machine Carltonclean.co.uk plans to undertake dry cleaning of bridal suits and wedding gowns as well.
