O.P. Jindal School, Angul, Organises Fifth Annual Athletic Meet

Angul: OP Jindal School, Angul organised its fifth Annual Athletic meet at its campus today. Mr. DK Saraogi, Executive Director and Location Head, JSPL, Angul was chief guest for the occasion, in which large number of parents and other dignitaries were present.

The day-long athletic meet kick started with hoisting of school flag by the chief guest and rendition of school song by the students that was followed by a torch rally and march past by the pupils.

Addressing the Students and parents, Mr. Saraogi said, ?Promotion of Sports activities in schools is not only helps in physical fitness of students but also creates a competitive spirit among them. It helps in building confidence and inculcating team spirit among students?. He appreciated efforts of the school in organising such a nice event.? ?

Mr. Chhanda Charana Das, Principal, OP Jindal School, presented the welcome address.

Among the dignitaries present during the inaugural ceremony were Mr. Damodar Mittal, EVP (Iron & Steel), JSPL, Angul, Capt. Ajit Singh, CSO, JSPL, Angul Mr P. Nabakishore, Headmaster, DAV Savitri Jindal High School, Angul.

A huge gathering of parents, school staff, guardians and pupils enjoyed a host of events such as banana race, relay race, frog race, balloon bursting race, triple leg race, long jump, shot put, javelin throw and others performed by the students.? Besides the athletic activities, the students also presented rhythmic dance, rhythmic drill, pyramid, aerobic exercise etc, under the guidance of Sports Instructor Mr. Rishi Kumar Agasti .

The winners in various categories were awarded prizes. Chief Guest of the Valedictory Function Swami Satyabindu Saraswati Ji and Mr C.C. Das, Principal, Presented the prizes to the participants from different houses of the school ? Bhakti, Shakti, Mukti and Riti for their successful performance. Mukti House followed by Riti House claimed the Champion trophy in the Athletic Meet.
