Pioneering effort to recognise women in the online and digital world, more than 30 women entrepreneurs recognised, more than 700 applications received. Winners include women ranging from E-Commerce, Content Creation, Leadership and Social Impact. Chief Guest at ?Digital Women Awards? DIPP Secretary Amitabh Kant says ?India can grow at not just 8-9% but beyond 11% if women can be part of the growth story.? Keynote speaker Rajan Anandan, MD Google India and South East Asia says, ?Women entrepreneurs just build great companies! This is the first time I am at an event where there are more women entrepreneurs than men.?

The presence of all the 30 winners as well as a majority of the 700 applicants in the audience has made ?Digital Women Awards? a unique event of its kind in India. The event?s mega success was highly appreciated by all the attendees and also won accolades from people governing the newly formed structures of the digital media world. Digital Women Awards is an initiative brought up by Shaili Chopra, the founder of SheThePeople.TV to unleash talent, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and creation among women achievers in the digital space.
DIPP Secretary Amitabh Kant, the man leading the much acclaimed ?Make in India? campaign was the Chief Guest and he spoke on how women can add more to India?s growth story while Google South Asia Managing Director, Rajan Anandan was the Keynote Speaker gave a notable speech on the role of women in the digital world.

DIGITAL WOMEN AWARDS JURY
The award show also witnessed spectacular team of jury who strived half of their life to establish digital ecosystem in India, which was led by TV Mohandas Pai (Founding member of Infosys, Chairman of Manipal) whose view on digital women empowerment was, ?Women are becoming the Prima Donnas of the digital world which is giving free reign to their talent, creativity and vision unrestrained by any context. In this new world they are thriving and taking leadership.?
Pai was supported by four successful women business leaders Deepali Naair (CMO of Mahindra Holidays), Ankhi Das (Director of Public Policy for Facebook in India and South & Central Asia), Meenu Handa (Director, Corporate Communications at Amazon India) and Akila Urankar (President of Business Standard). Except for jury members, there were famous personalities like Bollywood actress Gul Panag, Rajiv Anand of Axis Bank and many women achievers ruling the online digital world and representatives from top MNC companies and banks who were present at the show.
