One of the most surprising pieces of information in the article is the fact that the "Baby Boomers Ski Club" is the first of its kind in the 3 Valleys. With so many fit and active skiers aged over 60, Rob decided it would be fun to get them together for some interesting, relaxed cruising on the mountains and some enjoyable lunches to boot.

In discussing the article's creation, Roy Seboa, a Meribel regular for many years said this sounds like a great idea. He said that many singles and couples over 60 would love to ski with others of a similar age and outlook. Skiing is not just for the young. In Meribel there are locals still skiing in their 80's and 90's. In fact Meribel has so many active golden oldies that the lift company over recent years has put the age limit for a free ski pass up from 65 to 70 to 75. However, a 10% discount is given over 65.

The Baby Boomers Club has been created by Rob Smart, owner of Meribel Unplugged. The aim is to help create a cool friendly atmosphere, with some fun skiing and enjoyable lunches thrown in. Meribel caters very well for the 1000's of young visitors every season. However those over 60 might prefer a more laid back style of holiday; relaxed, safe skiing, with long leisurely lunches on a sunny terrace and then maybe some rock & roll for apres-ski.
