AskForTask Now Supporting Over 150,000 Taskers in More Than 150 Canadian Cities

AskForTask, the online marketplace helping users find trusted, local help in real-time, launches an upgraded iOS app and new website to better serve its quickly growing community. Currently, the AskForTask community is growing 40 percent month-over-month and has saved Canadians over $50 million to date.

Since its launch in 2012, AskForTask has connected Canadians with trusted Taskers nearby to get their everyday errands and daily tasks done, including cleaning, handymen tasks, moving and general help. The service has expanded to more than 150 cities in Canada, including Toronto, its most active city with over 10,000 Taskers; Vancouver, its second most active city with over 2,000 Taskers; and Montreal, its fastest-growing city in Canada.

AskForTask?s new app will include an updated interactive map for users to see available Taskers nearby in real-time and a new trending category that will list the most popular tasks within each local area. Additionally, the app?s speed and efficiency is improved to take the time required to request a task and be assigned a Tasker from a few hours to a few minutes.

With the goal of bringing communities together, AskForTask is continuously building a platform where people can connect and engage in a more trustworthy manner. AskForTask is eyeing a few global markets for expansion within the next few quarters with new partners and a larger reach.

AskForTask started in Mississauga, Ontario in 2012 and was developed by brothers Nabeel Mushtaq, COO, and Muneeb Mushtaq, CEO, while studying commerce at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, Muneeb realized the job market for his peers was scarce and when his mother asked him for help repairing a leaky faucet, he realized traditional resources challenged this simple task.
