Unveiled by Rado, the MKII is derived from yet another historical allusion to Rado's back catalog. The Captain Cook MKII was first launched with an impressive 22 bar (220m) water resistance rating and an inner turning bezel capable of measuring up to 80 minutes of elapsed dive time. The reimagined Captain Cook MKII, retains these impressive features, whilst incorporating a whole lot more. It features a hooded case with dual crowns and a proud acrylic crystal.
At first glance the Captain Cook MKII bears an uncanny resemblance to the 1962 original, with its red and white inner bezel and natural coloured Super-LumiNova? dots. On closer inspection however, the matt black dial and sleek rhodium coloured dial elements update the Captain Cook MKII for the twenty-first century.
Its versality and durability captures the true essence of this watch. Featuring an easy- change system allowing the wearer to change between the seven-row ?rice grain?, polished stainless steel bracelet and the black NATO strap. It?s a feature that makes the MKII a timepiece capable of slipping from on-duty to off-duty in a matter of seconds.
It really does feels like wearing a vintage piece on the wrist along with modern decorative features such as much loved metallised anchor in the dial now sits within a sapphire crystal. Super-LumiNova? painted applied indexes ensure optimum readability in even the most challenging conditions. And, with the quality Swiss automatic movement featuring up to 80 hours of power reserve, the MKII is ready to dive into any challenge.
